About the Item
The Zazen line combines organic shapes with the texture of concrete, giving life to a family of four highly recognizable vases.
Each vase is produced from a monolithic concrete casting. The design of Zazen makes it possible to reduce thickness to a minimum while maintaining solidity and lightness.
The maturation and finishing process, painstaking and complex craftsmanship as well as the nuances and peculiarities of the material, make each piece unique with many unreproducible characteristics.
The Zazen collection was first time presented at the Milan Design Week 2018

Forma & Cemento
Forma&Cemento was founded in 2014 by partners with a background in architecture, engineering, yacht building and concrete manufacturing. Our mission is to design and manufacture products in concrete in such a way that the material, traditionally considered poor by comparison will, through skilled craftsmanship, become prized among the choicest marbles and the most sought after woods.
The product range includes furniture and furnishings for both indoor and outdoor spaces. The material itself and the artisanal craftsmanship of each piece make every item unique. Customers can further personalise their item by selecting amongst a wide variety of colours, or even by customising and creating their own piece.
Forma&Cemento creates luxury products easily recognisable by the exclusive treatment of the material and the passionate quest for lightness and style. Each coffee table is made through the extrusion of a two-dimensional shape into which the concrete is poured. Each unique and recognizable "sign" materializes in a piece of furniture full of meaning. Forma&Cemento products are handcrafted in high performance cement mortar. Our production process is completely artisanal and for this reason each piece is unique and no two are alike. To preserve the beauty of our concrete and highlight its peculiar characteristics, we use colored pigments that are poured directly into the cement mix. Any imperfections on the surface such as color variations, porosity, fine cracks and granulations of different colors are characteristics of the material and of the craftsmanship, for this reason they are not to be considered defects.
